Project using air dry clay & IOD moulds

This video explains and show you how to use air dry clay with mould shapes and how to paint with chalk paint. For any round surface when you sticking the moulds would be good to use UHU all purpose glue and hold for 5min when glue got sturdy. After painting the pot and mould with paint wait till paint will dry and with masking tape stick the mould to hold till it drys through the night because air dry clay when it dries it shrinks and might get out of the surface or crack. but that is not a big problem you can leave it as it if your aiming for old rustic look or you can fill it with hot glue. After all dry use protector like varnish or wax to go around the pot. I would recommend for outdoor use the varnish and for indoor wax.

For this project I use mermaid and classic elements moulds if you like the look you can purchase mermaid moulds at our store http://www.beecreativearthub.com/product/sea-sisters/

Making a Table

To make the table form scratch or from old to new before starting make a measurements of what sizes and high you need. For this project I used table top from old table that we got from one local pub that was closed. It was solid wood table top that we cut to the sizes we needed. After that we sanded and made ready for painting. For the Legs we wanted to use modern metal frame that we order from online shop. You can find lots of options you want for your table we suggest to do your research. I did use Fairy Chic Chalk Paint to cover up all the table and decorated top with gold foil leafs. to match the table top with legs I spray the legs half way with gold spray paint. Then I painted the top with matt finish varnish and last screw-in the legs. Try it yourself hope it will inspires you to change your old table to new.

Organise your jewellery

Artistic hanger to suit your interior

Being an artist and love to wear lots of accessories I was having hard time to organise my jewellery box. I was getting bigger and bigger jewellery boxes but every time was the same tangle necklaces issue. when I got the idea! If necklace would be hanging it would work much better and I could see what I have. This how this hanger was born. I found the cupboard door and some handles I bought on sale. Then I looked at my interior design and match the colours I have around which was blue till and green. I you look at colouring wheel it is always good to look for contrast colours which means opposite colours that will compliment the colours you have and will give a great effect so I choose redish pink colour. All tutorial you can watch at our Youtube Channel Bee Creative Art Hub.

Getting ready for Christmas

Christmas tree decorations

I love this time of the year, when it gets dark and we spend more time indoors meeting friends and family. This is special time to reflect your year, what was done, what you achieved or would like to do more. When I look back of my year I always thank myself of things I done and feel very grateful what I have. What I love most is the moment I go to my attic and take out Christmas boxes look through decorations and that history I am building with my family and my children. We have lots of made things that we always happy to see again on our Christmas tree and around the house. I think Christmas should be about family and history we build together, reflecting to ourself and others and enjoy the best of us. That is way this year I would like to promote more sustainable Christmas, to look through things we have maybe change or update by just painting over or make it out of things that we have around the house. At this time of age when we consume so much I would like to think also about the planet as it is the home not just for humans but for all living beings. So hope you enjoy our video that we made with my daughter Joana. Have a wonderful Christmas.

-Plain wooden coasters

-Your choice of IOD stamps

-Chalky finish furniture paint (any colour you like)

-IOD ink (any colour you like

-Non-tamishing wax gilt (metallic)

-Metallic finishing wax or clear finishing wax

Method:

Step 1- Take your plain set of coasters and pick a colour that you would like to paint them. We recommend using a chalky finish furniture paint which helps give the coaster a vintage and worn look later on.

Step 2- Once the paint dries, you can either take a different colour and dry brush the coasters to age them or simply take some sandpaper and sand away the paint a little bit.

Step 3- Now its time to pick your stamps; apply ink to your chosen design and gently press it down on your coasters. You can use multiple ink colours depending on the kind of design that you’re going for.

Step 4- You can now add a bit of metallic non-famishing wax gilt to make your coasters shine and catch light in some areas. This step is optional.

Step 5- Finally you can add some finishing wax. Use metallic for a slightly pearly finish or clear for a more toned down look.
