Wandle Heritage who in the past have looked after a small garden at the entrance to Merton Abbey Mills have handed over the maintenance of the garden to volunteers organised by Bee Creative Art Hub, a small business on-site which holds after school classes to teach art to children aged 5-16. They are regenerating this sad looking garden space to a usable space for both adults and children.

The Wandle River Community Garden is for the local community children to enjoy and use for their education about nature, in a hands-on way, life cycles and the seasons as well as their general well being. For adults, it is a pleasant space to rest and relax by the River Wandle and Merton Abbey Mills.

Ideas to decorate your home with small things like bottles or paper.

Merry Christmas to all from Bee Creative Art Hub team. We happy to share our ideas and event, we making it, enjoying or organising. This year was hard to all of us as organising events was one of the unpredictable and most of the time impossible. But don’t get too sad we have many ideas holding in our mind and getting ready for better days. The most important now to be patient and do things you can do now. So even Christmas is over, I would like to share couple of my videos I made on our YouTube channel but this ideas I am sure you can use it even for every day projects to decorate you home. This time I am talking about bottles and how to decorate them in two different way. What you need is air dry clay, bottles and fairy lights, or epsom salt, PVA glue and bottle for other idea how to make frosty look.

Bottle Decorating ideas for home decor this holidays

The other idea was to make tree decorations made out of paper. This was very simple but effective way to make it by refusing the patterned paper from old William Morris print calendar. What you need is just pretty paper cut in stripes a wire and some beads if you want. You can use gold spray paint to spay the other side of strips. Hope you enjoy this ideas and stay creative at home.

The Cure of Touch

The Cure of Touch movie

The Cure of touch project started a year ago when Ieva_bee Artist and Ksenia Fedorova Fine Art Photographer joined our thoughts and ideas of how humans are integrated into Nature and how everything is interconnected. All this was possible and easy to deliver because of that time when we could touch and communicate without fear of anything.

The cure starts with understanding. The action of touch begins with the skin. We may not be aware of this, but many of us need to correct some aspects of our relationship with the help of our bodies.

The key to understanding how our bodies feel is to be found in the simple ability to give and receive touch.

The classic work of Ashley Montagu “Touch”(1986) describes how touching the skin affects the physical health of people of all ages, from birth. Research shows that children who are more likely to be touched have a higher survival capacity than those who are not.

Touch also facilitates empathy, it promotes self-disclosure.

Communication with nature is a moment when we not only hear the micro- and macrocosm around us, but also our own inner voice. We smell the clean air, when we touch, we build a personal relationship with what is around us.

Communicating with nature strengthens social bonds and makes us much less angry or irritated.

Now, rethinking it, we understand how it is no coincidence that it ends only now because soon after we ended the photoshoot the lockdown happened, and all kinds of restrictions due to COVID-19, a series of moves, and changes.

This project now could tell about the importance of social contacts, that only by uniting, we will be able to end this difficult period. Let the communication now turn into virtual forms and the Merton Art Festival got adopted to the situation itself and got virtual too.

It is necessary to share your creativity, be inspired by other works, and rejoice for other success to continue.
